  • one ripe spaghetti squash
  1. Heat oven to 400 degrees.
  2. Wash outside of the squash
  3. Prepare the squash for baking one of two ways:
  4. Cut in half lengthwise and remove seeds
  5. Put both halves face down on baking sheet
  6. Cook until you can poke a fork all the way through
  7. Usually 45 to 60 minutes depending on size. OR
  8. If the squash is too hard to cut in half
  9. Poke a hole in uncut squash for the steam to escape
  10. Put on baking sheet
  11. Cook until you can easily poke a fork in it.
  12. Usually 60 to 90 minutes depending on size
  13. Cut in half lengthwise and remove seeds.
  14. Using an oven mitt to protect your hand hold it upright
  15. Using your other hand to scrape the squash out with a fork
  16. It comes out in strands.
  17. Can be eaten plain or with butter, Parmesan cheese and/or your favorite pasta sauce.
