June 10, 2008: Our family loves the Livingston County 4-H program!  Our daughter, Jessica, is actively involved in the Ranger's 4-H Club and both of us have been leaders for years. 4-H is a great way for children aged 9-19 (and parents!) to be involved in the community and agriculture through a wide assortment of activities. You don't need to have animals; all you need is curiosity and a good sense of humor. 4H provides the rest.Jessica raises animals and works on projects from cooking and sewing to ceramics and scrapbooking. She looks forward to the 4-H Fowlerville Fair every year. This is where all her hard work and knowledge is judged. In addition, the 4H auctions of livestock provide her with money for future projects and college. Read more about it HERE.  She personally raises and takes care of her animals by hand and gives them personal attention and lots of excercise. Jessica has attended various workshops to learn more about her projects. |

| This year she has had the privilege to be the president of the Ranger's Service Team which is made up of the teenagers in the Ranger's 4-H Club. They are involved with community service including roadside clean-up, visiting the elderly, planting flowers for others and helping wherever they are needed. This group also brings ideas to their general 4-H group meetings. |
